A glowing Van Gogh cycle path opened in the Netherlands

A beautiful and incredibly poetic, yet an environmental and futuristic cycle path lights up the night scene in the Netherlands. Designed by Dutch designer Daan Roosgaarde, It illuminates a stretch of path with patterns based on Vincent van Gogh’s painting, The Starry Night.

The embedded light stones (used to create patterns) of the Van Gogh-Roosegaarde Bicycle Path are charged during the day and glow during the evening. The light-emitting technique used for the path emits a soothing ambience in the surrounding area, creating a surreal experience for visitors. The bicycle path is part of the Van Gogh cycle route, which runs through the Dutch province of Noord Brabant, to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Vincent van Gogh’s death.

The design provides a modern interpretation to Vincent van Gogh’s work, combining innovation, history and environment into futuristic vision in the place where he once lived in 1883.
